Profile
Reindorf has developed a keen interest in computational modeling and simulation. It all started
with him completing Master of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics at Kwame
Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST) where his research work focused on application of fractional calculus in Pharmacokinetics.
So far, his technical areas of research have included scientific computing and data science.
Currently, he works at the Center for Scientific and Technical Computing-NIMS as a researcher and PhD student in
Scientific computing and industrial modeling (specifically in the area of flood inundation modeling).
Why he chose to be part of NIMS? "NIMS has a brilliant group of computational scientists and close community of graduate students
which he has yearned to be part of. It is an institution that has uniquely combined world-class research with a very friendly and supportive environment.
Plus its location in KNUST, an environment of great interdisciplinary research and collaboration. It is exciting to be part of their inaugural class," said Reindorf.
For Reindorf, he believes that postgraduate studies is all about finding answers and multidisciplinary research.
It’s not all work for graduate students though – each has time for fun.
When he isn’t in the office, you can find him in his two favorite spots on campus.
“My favorite spots on campus are the hostel - It's a good place to relax and chat with friends after work.
And campus gymnasium - a place to keep the body in good shape for the laborious tasks ahead”said Reindorf.
