Nana Kena Frempong received his BSc Mathematics degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, in 2002. He was awarded two Master’s degrees in Applied Statistics and Biostatistics respectively, at the Universiteit Hasselt, Belgium, in 2007. And he obtained his Doctorate in Mathematical Statistics in 2017, awarded by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
He has been with the Mathematics Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, since 2009, and plays a role in the day to day activities of the Department. His research areas include Multivariate Data Analysis, Survival Analysis, Longitudinal Data Analysis and Disease Modelling. His main research interest lies in the development of statistical methodology for application in practical problems in industry. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, under the Department of Mathematics.
Nana Kena Frempong is passionate about the value of statistical thinking, and the use of statistical techniques as a means for improving decision making, and has published more than twenty-five (25) articles in the Mathematics, Finance, Economics and Statistics literature.
At NIMS-Ghana, he coordinates the organization of NIMS workshops, conferences, special events and visa for visitors to the Institute. He is also responsible for the logistical coordination of the Institute's programmes, the overseeing of application processes, material organization, and the execution of programmatic activities. He thus works closely with the Institute Directorate and various committees.
